It was a blustery day this year, unfortunately, which made it harder to sing and affected the sound quality on the recordings.

Thankfully the sun did shine and there was an appreciative audience.

(Spookmeister of The Spooky Men's Chorale)

22nd – 24th September 2023

We love coming back to Edinburgh, and this year we’ve decided to head into the Old Town…

On Friday night and Sunday we’ll be in Charteris Centre’s main Hall, but on Saturday break things up by spending the day at Lauriston Hall. We enjoyed the fine acoustics of the Charteris Centre some years ago and are looking forward to returning, following its renovation.

As usual, Saturday-evening traditions will be observed in the form of either dancing, chatting, drinking or all of the above.

The Edinburgh weekend is always full of lovely people singing lovely things and this year will be no different.

The weekend costs £135 per person and runs from 7.30pm on Friday 22nd September to 5pm on Sunday 25th September 2023.

Stephen Taberner is a NZ-born and Australian-based singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and conductor, probably best known for his leadership of the Spooky Men's Chorale, as well as his work with choirs and singing workshops.

He's generally in demand for the following areas of expertise:

  • Singing workshop leader

  • Community music facilitator

  • Composer

  • Working with music in schools, especially with boys

But is interested in a wide range of other things, anything that zingles his thringles...
