Zoup & Zing is BAAAAAAACK!!

We want to sing this Christmas so we are going to hold an online Sunday Morning Sing on Sunday 19 December at 11am. It is quite a while since we did this and we are excited about getting it together. Alison and Sarah will lead you in a singing workshop, and although you will join in on mute most of the time, we have found that these sessions are terrific fun and have a genuine sense of community. Please have a look at the poster on the Events page and spread the word!

There will be a Christmas theme.

Please email alisonscott50@hotmail.com to book - she will send you the link and details for payment. This is a 'pay as you feel' event, and you are welcome to pay as much or as little as you like. We will also send you a recipe - food is a HUGE part of our Soup & Sing ethos! We will also send you song lyrics.

ALSO.......

More exciting news - we will also be bringing back Morning Zings in January! We did these last year, we loved doing them and they were very popular. We plan to sing for 20-30mins every weekday morning, for two weeks in the first instance, for FREE! 10am - exact dates to follow. Please please join in - it was great fun to meet everyone every morning online for a wee sing and started the day with a little bit of joy. contact Sarah this time for the link on sarahcgray@aol.com. But wait until January!

We can't wait to see you

Our collaboration with Steve Jinski to create a song along with Drywater Arts Dementia group for Amble's Festival of Light.

This song was commissioned by Dry Water Arts as part of their Arts Council funded KIN project, focusing on ideas about kindness and kindred in a Covid conscious world. Dry Water Arts are based in Amble, Northumberland. The lyrics grew from conversations with attendees at Dry Water's Dementia Positive programmes trying to give a voice to those who have not been heard. Despite their suffering and loss they still look to find and see good in the world.

The Amble Harbour Lights Choir supported by choir leader Sarah Gray also contributed their vocal skills to the track. The whole thing was produced, mixed and mastered by Dave Maughan.

Please note all revenues will go towards supporting Dry Water Arts and their Dementia Positive Programmes. www.drywaterarts.uk

Masterclass Dates

Online Masterclasses are open to everyone, and you are bound to find a song to suit you from my 'prepared list' - this time around, as requested by some people, I have compiled a list of songs that I have been teaching for the last decade or so, that I have the sheet music for and that have become old friends. Please email sarahcgray@aol.com for the list and to book at place on the following masterclasses:

Female Composer (not just Classical, rock and pop and folk too)

7.30pm on Tuesday 5 October

10.30am on Friday 15 October

7.30pm on Tuesday 2 November

11am on Wednesday 3 November

1pm on Friday 19 November

Sacred Song

1pm on Wednesday 3 November

11am on Thursday 18 November

3pm on Friday 19 November

Musical Theatre

7.30pm on Tuesday 12 October

1pm on Wednesday 13 October

11am on Thursday 14 October

10.30am on Wednesday 10 November

3pm on Wednesday 10 November

Foreign Language Song

11am on Thursday 28 October

1pm on Friday 29 October

British Song

7.30pm on Wednesday 20 October

11am on Wednesday 21 October

1pm on Friday 22 October

7.30pm on Wednesday 24 November

Plus 7.30pm on Friday 29 October - Any Song from List

I have designed the programme this way so that if you want to do, for example, two musical theatre choices or two female composers, you can do so, they are not all on the same week. I am also pretty flexible and some of the later ones can become 'any song' (like 7.30pm on 29 Oct) if your choice doesn't fit into the time you have available.
