27 July Alnmouth walk and history talk – followed by tea and cake at Jackie’s

(4 Bridge End, Alnmouth) at 7 pm


There are lots of options from no walking - just come and take in the view then have a cuppa and a natter; do some of the walk but head back half way or do the full route (which would take around 50 minutes).


Easy to get to by bus (link to timetable attached) or park at the Cricket Club or on Shepherd’s Hill and meet at seating area at Duchess Bridge

No charge.

3 August Craft Activity run by Kate Wilson. Bede Club 7 – 9 pm as for Choir rehearsal.


Kate will be making Christmassy type things (trees, stars, spinners).


Maximum of 15 for the session (if we have more than that wanting to take part, Kate has kindly offered to host a further 6 at her house)

£5 per person on the door to cover costs.

Surplus money will be donated.

10 August Paddle, Picnic and opportunity for a dip.

Amble Little Shore 12 midday.


Come along for a sociable paddle, picnic and a dip (the latter is purely optional)


Ali has a beach hut here and can make hot drinks. Bring your own mug!


Remember to bring – towel/dry robe, warm clothes to change into and your own picnic.


PLEASE NOTE: ANYONE WISHING TO DIP DOES SO AT THEIR OWN RISK!

17 August Gong Bath – St Cuthbert’s Hall, Amble. 7-9 pm.


The best experience is had by lying down (although you can sit if you’d prefer). You will need a yoga or camping mat. Please let Jackie/Rachel know if you can’t bring one and they will try and find a spare for you.


Suggested to bring along – blanket and possibly an eye mask as well if you wish.

£17.50 per person on the door to cover costs. Surplus money will be donated.

24 August Warkworth Walk with Norma at 7 pm starting from the Sun Hotel, Warkworth Hotel Bar. It also finishes there, so handy for parking and bus stop. Anyone not wanting to walk can come along for a drink and a natter.


The route is approximately 2 miles taking in the Castle, Mill Walk and Hermitage end of the village. There may be musical interludes en route – sounds like fun!

31 August Guided Walk, Amble Harbour with Bart Rippon, followed by fish and chip supper – meet 7 pm at Amble Harbour. No charge (folks to buy their own supper).

It was a blustery day this year, unfortunately, which made it harder to sing and affected the sound quality on the recordings.

  • Saturday 25th November, 2023: The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists A one person Magic Lantern show of the classic book The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists . Doors and bar open at 19:00 for concert at 19:30.

  • Friday 8th December, 2023: Werca’s Folk and Voice Male choirs Two of the foremost choirs of the region coming together to lighten up the darkening nights. Doors and bar open at 19:00 for concert at 19:30.

  • Saturday 9th December, 2023: Donnelly and South’s Christmas Cracker The most fun you can have without shinning down someone’s chimney! Doors and bar open at 19:00 for concert at 19:30.

  • January, 2024 No concert planned.

  • Saturday 24th February, 2024: Janice Burns & Jon Doran Tight vocal harmonies and sensitive interplay between mandolin, bouzouki, and guitar. Doors and bar open at 19:00 for concert at 19:30.

  • Saturday 16th March, 2024: Emma Fisk’s Hot Club Du Nord Hot Club jazz with a swing. Doors and bar open at 19:00 for concert at 19:30.

  • Saturday 20th April, 2024: The Wilson Family Powerhouse unaccompanied singing to raise the rafters. Doors and bar open at 19:00 for concert at 19:30.
