"What's Your Amble?" - The Rime Call-Out

Updated: Jun 9, 2021

A project devised by Sound Designer & Sound Designer, Matthew Tuckey

requesting your participation.

The project deadline is Monday 21st June 2021, if you wish to get involved.

The Rime Call-Out

We’re creating a sound journey of Amble - from the chirps of cracking ice to the chug

of boats on the tide. We’re taking your ears where your feet can’t go, revealing

hidden worlds - and we need you! This is your town. Who knows it better than you?

We want that honest sense of home in every sight and sound - of living and growing

up in Amble. Visiting somewhere for a day doesn’t mean you see the rhythms, colour

and music of a place: the full picture. Can you help us fill in the gaps?

How can I get involved?

We would love to hear:

  • your earliest or strongest memories of living and growing up next to the coast - what is it like to be part of this town?

  • your favourite places or activities, especially near or by the sea

  • sights and sounds you associate with living here

Deadline: Monday 21st June 2021

How do I share them?

You don’t need internet to share your stories with us. Simply call 01914 325467 and

leave us a loud and clear voicemail. You’ll have three minutes to share whatever is

important to you!

Don’t know where to begin?

Visit www.matthewtuckey.co.uk/the-rime-digital-scrapbook to check out our online scrapbook with sound, pictures, and recordings of the Rime of the Ancient Mariner to get you started!

You can then send us a postcard through the website with your stories, or call the phone number above.

Matthew was in touch with Choir Leader, Sarah and the Committee earlier this year. Now that funding for the project has been agreed, we extend the invite for you to participate.
